The $22.5 million contribution from Transport Canada's Clean Ports Stream is a testament to the federal government's strong confidence in EverWind to continue to play a leading role in Canada's green hydrogen and ammonia production sector. This investment will accelerate the development of EverWind's green hydrogen and green ammonia project at Point Tupper and position the Strait of Canso region as a key hub for sustainable energy development, while supporting economic growth across Nova Scotia and as a transportation hub for its sister project on the Burin Peninsula in Newfoundland. The infrastructure supported by this funding will also help promote emissions reductions in the maritime transport sector and serve as a gateway for moving clean fuels from Atlantic Canada to markets at home and abroad.
Partnership with indigenous peoples and responsibility for the environment
EverWind's success is based on strong partnerships with First Nations - Membertou, Paqtnkek and Potlotek. This collaboration ensures that Mi'kmaw principles of netukulimk and environmental stewardship are incorporated into every aspect of project development.
