Sam was first appointed Ontario's Associate Minister of Energy – Intensive Industries in June 2024 and again in March 2025. Since then, he has been actively meeting with stakeholders across the province to gather insights on securing Ontario’s energy future. Working closely with Ontario’s Minister of Energy and Electrification, Stephen Lecce, he focuses on leveraging the province’s resources, talent, and clean energy advantage to secure reliable, affordable, and clean energy that drives Ontario’s economy, supports manufacturing, and powers good jobs and growth across the province.
